Worth your buy, but exceptionally flawed

Why is it that a book with so much potential crashes? Ken Leebow did a good job finding 300 good websites, 50 of which are actually worth going too. Ultimately though this book suffers from a lack of organization that other 300 incredible things to do have. No table of contents, no sub sections, nothing, you could be searching for hours until you find something you want to look at. Plus with search engines that are highly developed these days, what is a book about internet stuff good for? Also his synopsis of the sites are sometimes wasted, he tries to fit jokes in, most of which are ..., he tries to make a pun, they don't really fit. Also the cartoons aren't that fun either, they may give you a small smile but mostly it's just more wasted space. Fortunately this book has enough quantity to make it worth buying, but don't be fooled, this book is flawed to the core, really, really, flawed.

I have purchased four of these 300 Incredible books, (Vol. I & II, Racing and Travel) and have found all to be quite useful. The books are more or less a directory that lets you easily and quickly find quality Websites for just about any topic/use you can imagine. Volume I is an excellent, well organized collection of more than 400 good, useful and fun sites. All the garbage routinely found in search engine listings has been left out. I have found literally hundreds of sites that I would have otherwise never found. As for those who feel the book needs to go into more depth on each Website, that's what the link is for. The author of this book (Ken Leebow) understands that he's doesn't need to waste your time telling you all the details about a site when you can visit the site and see it for yourself. What he DOES do is finds only quality sites and tells you what the main idea/purpose of the site is and provides a means by which you can easily look up sites that you'll find interesting and supplies a link. I consider these books to be like my own personal yellow pages to the Internet. I will no doubt buy more!

Useful for Only the Very Novice Internet User

This book was a huge disappointment, but what should I have expected for less than $9.00? Instead of listing two sites for 300 only sometimes useful categories, the book should have gone even a little bit more in depth on fewer categories. But then they'd have to change the title--it apparently was more important to have 300 categories than a useful book.

This book is a must for everyone! Whether you're an Internet expert or just a novice, I guarantee that you can find helpful information here. It covers any topic you could think of, from comedy to finance, politics to real estate, music to philosophy, and so much more. I used to think that there was no way to grasp all of the information on the Internet but this book makes surfing the 'net easy and fun!
