Product Description
225 photographs from the Civil Rights era in Birmingham, original news accounts, and recollections from those who conceived and lived the era. Also included are Rev. Fred L. Shuttlesworth's speeches and Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights annual reports. Leading off with a preface from Rev. Fred L. Shuttlesworth, the book intentionally tells the story from the Movement perspective, through the eyes of the strong network of Christian churches which banded together throughout the city of Birmingham to stage a God-filled, non-violent confrontation to banish segregation.

Extraordinary Historical Evidence
Rating (5)
Date: 2000-05-17
This work contains valuable historical records demonstrating the looking glass qualities of law and order in Alabama in the 1960s, where state and local law enforcement were on the side of lawlessness, criminalizing civil rights work while working to violate federal law. Every law school, college, and secondary school in America should have a copy of this book.
